Tips For Campervan Hire in New Zealand

Author: Joshua Martindale

Source: ezinearticles.com

New Zealand is considered one of the most beautiful and spectacular countries in the world and one of the best ways to explore its diverse landscape of volcanoes, mountains, forests and glaciers is by campervan. Traveling by campervan allows you to travel at your own pace, stop where and when you want to and to really experience this unique country.

It's relatively easy to arrange campervan hire in New Zealand - you will need a valid driving license, which allows you to drive for up to a year, and proof of insurance. Driving can take a bit of getting used to, as there are many single lane highways and hilly, winding roads, although there is also a good highway system. Rest areas are frequent and offer a chance to stop and admire the scenery. Don't forget that like the British, they drive on the left!

Although the country is relatively small, it can take longer than you think to travel between places. Many roads are used by huge freight trucks, as well as occasional flocks of wandering sheep or goats - there are more sheep than people in New Zealand.

You may also have to watch for snow and ice on the road, particularly on South Island, and the occasional unsealed, or unpaved road. Speed limits and distances are in kilometers, not miles.

There are certain things you should consider when hiring a campervan. You may have to choose between manual and automatic transmission. Vehicles vary in size and can sleep between two and six people; most have basic cooking facilities and a shower or toilet.

Some companies include extras such as insurance, roadside assistance in case of breakdown and no charges for an additional driver. Petrol costs around $2 a liter.

So where should you go in your campervan? Many visitors start their trip in one of the country's big cities. Wellington is the world's southernmost capital and is a modest city of avenues and gardens, with a thriving waterfront area. Christchurch is perhaps the most English city outside the UK; and Auckland, the country's largest city and main gateway is sophisticated and cosmopolitan. There are generally more campervan rental options in Auckland and Christchurch.

But of course, it's the beautiful and unspoiled countryside that most visitors want to see. If some of it looks vaguely familiar, the 'Lord of the Rings' movies were filmed in New Zealand. If you aren't sure where to go, the country has devised a series of themed drives, with such evocative and inviting names as the Forgotten World Highway and the Alpine Pacific Triangle.

For an unforgettable New Zealand vacation experience, be sure to check out campervan hire New Zealand. Visit my site for more information:

Nothing Compares With a Luxury Lodge in Matakana, New Zealand

Author: Ian Bateman

Source: ezinearticles.com

Located in the Rodney District of Auckland, New Zealand, a quaint little village called Matakana can be found. When it comes to indulging in luxury lodge accommodation in New Zealand, you can't go past the allure of a luxurious bed and breakfast that is located in an area that feels miles away from everyday life. In addition to stunning views, the township of Matakana also offers a cinema, bars, restaurants, shopping and fine local wine for visitors to enjoy. A luxury lodge in New Zealand is something that many people can afford, but given the attraction of Matakana and the local events that take place, you might want to book well in advance so that you can find the perfect bed and breakfast for your stay.

Interested in the various activities that take place in Matakana? Check out the following:

- The Famous Matakana Village Farmers Market - held every Saturday. Wonder around the various stalls, purchase and/or sample local produce including: pies, beer, feijoa wine, market fresh berries & greens, coffee, olives, mustards, macadamia nuts, chocolate, specialist greens & vegetables, fine wine vinegars & olive oils and local free range eggs.

- The Music Mountain Matakana. This event takes place during the summertime.

- The Matakana Seagull Raft Race. This fun event takes place around early November each year.

We recommend you also head to the Matakana Information Centre to find a complete list of attractions, activities, and a range of souvenirs to take home with you.

When it comes to finding the perfect luxury lodge, with bed and breakfast style accommodation, think about things like high-end fixtures and rooms. This should include things like beautiful linens, an outdoor spa pool, mouth watering meals, extra features and amenities, and all of the other perks that come with a high-class holiday or weekend getaway experience. Make sure that you get everything that you want so that you can have the most luxurious time possible while you are in Matakana, New Zealand.

If you live in Auckland, Matakana is only an hour's drive north of the city. If you are planning a holiday or weekend getaway in New Zealand, consider heading to Matakana to spend time relaxing amongst the picturesque scenery. You can even include a day trip into Auckland City - heading back after a day's shopping to the quiet and luxurious comfort of a luxury lodge. Camping Grounds in New Zealand - The Ultimate Kiwi Holiday

Author: Kenwyn Soares

Source: ezinearticles.com

Camping has long been part of a great "kiwi" holiday and with the wealth of camping grounds available around New Zealand there's no reason why you too can't experience this type of holiday.

The thought of a camping ground might well conjur up thoughts of uncomfortable grounds, leaking tents and unsanitary communal amenities for many, but these grounds have come a long way in New Zealand. There is a certain standard that you should look for when you are looking to book a camp ground in New Zealand, these are identifiable by the Qualmark badges which are displayed on their websites and in accommodation directories. These will ensure that you are getting the best accommodation options available in terms of facilities, business practises and service. Many campgrounds are now also proud to offer environmental initiatives to ensure such things as water conservation and pollution, and waste reduction from their grounds.

Camping grounds in New Zealand offer much more than just spots to erect a tent though - a kiwi camping holiday can include powered campsites for the likes of campervans (or just those that want to camp in luxury!), units and cabins. With the likes of the cabins and units, you still get the feel of camping but you just don't have to set up your tent.

All of these are set within what is commonly known as a 'holiday park' and are usually always located in great park like surroundings.

Camping grounds in New Zealand can be found right around the country - from 90 Mile Beach at the top of the North Island right through to Invercargill in the South Island, so no matter where you are travelling to in the 'Land of the Long White Cloud' you are sure to have a holiday park nearby. Each offering something a little bit different than the other; whether that is the location, the service or simply the types of accommodation available.

The cost of booking into a camp ground in New Zealand is very affordable and for the budget conscious traveller that can be very pleasing to the pocket! For example, a campsite in Taupo for two adults is around the $34 - $38 price range per night, depending on the season.

Because camping is such a popular holiday type for kiwi's you should look at booking your spot sooner rather than later - particularly over summer or when there are events on in the town or city you have chosen to stay in.

Great Lake Holiday Parks location has commanding views of Lake Taupo and the evening lights of the Taupo town centre. From the park there is easy access to northern boat ramps and beaches.

Great Lake Holiday Park is part of Kiwi Holiday Parks, a group of 50 plus independently owned accommodation providers throughout New Zealand. With one, two & three bedroom self contained accommodation, deluxe cabins, standard cabins, powered and non powered sites offering a great choice of affordable accommodation to suit all budgets.

Play Golf With a Group of Your Friends Or Club Members and Travel Throughout New Zealand

Author: Mark Perkins

Source: ezinearticles.com

Arrowtown, Central Otago, in the South Island, playes host at The Hills Golf Course, to the New Zealand Golf Open.

The Remarkable Ranges which flanks one side of the glaciated lake of Lake Wakatipu, on the shores of which, Queenstown is situated, provides the background.

The 4.3 million population of New Zealand boasts having in excess of 300 golf clubs, officially registered with Golf New Zealand. There are also a number of other golf courses which are privately owned or attached to some of the scenic hotels.

One such course is set on the foothills of Mt Ruapehu, the largest mountain in the North Island and New Zealand's most active, mainland volcano.

Although every so often is covered in snow, the private nine hole course connected to the Grand Chateau Bay-view Hotel, is playable almost all year round

The Rangatira Golf Club not often visited by tourists, due to its isolation to high quality accommodation, is another superb course in the Rangitiki district.

Overlooking the Rangitiki gorge, the Rangatira course has beautiful views. The Rangitiki River over millions of years has carved out the Rangitiki limestone ravine.

The high level of standard that the course presents is due to the way in which it is looked after by the green staff. Split into 3 levels of six holes each making its way down the hillside towards the Rangitiki River. After completion of the 18th hole, you ride an electric, 4 person cable car up to the carpark and clubhouse.

Heading further north towards Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand, with a population of approximately 1.5 million, is Lake Taupo.

At approximately 629 square kilometers, Lake Taupo is New Zealand's largest lake.

2,000 years ago, this volcanic crater last erupted. Within the last 2,000, it is believed to have been one of the largest eruptions in the world. The ancient Romans and Chinese have noted in their annuals of history, a darkening of the skies and a red glow at night in the southern skies.

Rated by the honored US Golf Digest magazine, to be in the top 100 courses in the world, The Wairakei International Golf Course is only a few minutes from the township of Taupo.

Beatified with many of New Zealand's native trees and plants, makes up for the lack of views of the lake. To uphold the native bird life and trees, the course is totally encircled with a predator exclusion fence

The Bay of Islands, was the beginning place of New Zealand's recent history, and is almost at the top of the North Island. Looking across the waters of the Bay of Island and the township of Russell, is the back drop to the picturesque Waitangi Golf Course.

The front nine is played on undulating, native bush surrounded fairways and greens. The back nine has striking views. Sharing your game of golf with native birds like the Tui, Fantails, Australasian Harrier Hawks or a family of Canadian Quails, is not uncommon.

Not only do most clubs in New Zealand, offer golf club and trolley or cart hire and bar & restaurant facilities for refreshments after the game but also a friendly welcome.

If this has enticed you to travel to our lovely country with a group of friends or other players, you will find a number of Coach Charter companies eager to transport you from course to course and help plan your itinerary.

On a list of the worlds most beautiful countries New Zealand must be at the very top of the list. The countries breathtaking scenery has delighted and enthralled visitors for many years especially its mountains, scenic coastlines and glorious rain forests.

New Zealand's size can be compared to the size of the United Kingdom or Japan but with a much smaller population of just 4 million people, making it one of the world's least populated countries. Its climate remains mostly the same and only suffers small changes on a year to year basis, making it a fabulous destination for a holiday all year round.

New Zealand's history traces back to its first settler s the Maori, these settlers made an epic journey of over 1000 miles from Hawaiki. One of the first ever explorers to discover the Island was called Kupe and named the islands 'Aotearoa'. This translates to Land of the Long White Cloud.

In 1840 the country of New Zealand was formed with a declaration signed by both Maori tribal leaders and members of the British Crown. This document was signed in Waitangi in the bay of islands. Later named the treaty of Waitangi this event turned Waitangi into one of New Zealand's most historical sites and a national holiday each year is given called the Waitangi day.

New Zealandis one of the most wonderful tourist destinations and has invested greatly in ensuring visitors receive the best holiday experience possible during their New Zealand holidays. Finding Motel Accommodation in New Zealand Couldn't Be Easier

Author: Chris M Lee

Source: ezinearticles.com

Whether you're a New Zealand businessman, holidaymaker or international tourist, finding somewhere to rest your head is easy, no matter which part of the country you are in or what budget you've got.

New Zealand is a beautiful country consisting of two main islands and numerous smaller islands around it. It is famous around the world for its spectacular scenery, diverse landscapes and its rich culture. In actual fact, this is the feeling amongst all New Zealanders too - both those who have travelled from north to south and those who have only seen its beauty in books and on television.

When people head to New Zealand's shores, they often arrive not knowing what to expect in the way of places to stay whilst they're exploring. Well, the news is good for those feeling a little anxious. New Zealand is simply oozing with options from the North Island right through to the South Island. There's hotel and motel accommodation, backpackers, luxury lodges, bed and breakfasts and a wealth of camping grounds spread across this relatively small country. Plus you've also got the option of freedom camping - something that many other countries forbid.

As far as the motel industry is concerned, the options are endless. One of the greatest draw cards of residing in New Zealand is the close proximity of everything. Say for example you've chosen Christchurch as your destination. There are literally hundreds of motels in and around the outskirts of this "garden city". Best of all, they're all within a stone throw of the majority of the city's main amenities.

Motel accommodation in New Zealand offers excellent value for money. Even the cheapest of motels in the smallest of towns will get you the basics that you're after. And you can count on receiving great customer service as well. There's plenty to choose from at the higher end of the price spectrum as well, that will give you all of the bells and whistles.

Whether you are an overseas tourist or a New Zealander on the lookout for a motel, one of the best places to find what you're looking for is to jump on Google and type in "hot motel deals" or something similar. This will bring up a few websites that offer the greatest deals at the time for a number of motels. If you find the right website, it'll tell you how much rooms are normally as well as the reduced price next to it. From there you will be able to explore all of the motel accommodation in New Zealand and quality images which will show you exactly what to expect. Jumping online is the easiest way to find what you're looking for.

Enjoy the Beautiful Scenery on Your New Zealand Vacation

Author: Maud Meates-Dennis

Source: ezinearticles.com

New Zealand is a great destination for a campervan holiday. New Zealand is known for its stunning scenery. There are wildly contrasting scenes - from volcanic mountains to idyllic beaches, from glaciers to mountain lakes, from lush rain forest to rolling pastures- and you can get from one to the other relatively easily by road in a short space of time. If you're driving, you get to experience the changing landscape as you move from one spectacular area to another. The spectacular scenery is not only at the destinations but it's along the way as well!

So, if you're planning a New Zealand vacation, then seriously consider renting a campervan / motorhome / RV to create your own roadtrip adventure.

Choosing a Campervan

There are numerous campervan rental companies in New Zealand offering a range of vehicles. Almost all rental campervans in New Zealand can be driven on a normal car license. There are both automatic and manual vehicles. The roads in New Zealand can be narrow and winding (especially in some of the beautiful mountains) so if you are not used to a manual transmission, I would advise that you look for an automatic vehicle.

When deciding on size, firstly you need to accommodate all your traveling companions. If you are a couple and want to have a permanent bed, rather than making one up every night from the lounge area, you might want to consider a 4 berth campervan. Just remember, though, that larger vehicles will be less easy to drive and manoeuver.

New Zealand has many areas where you can free camp (or freedom camp, as it is also known) - however, to do so you need a self-contained campervan, so one with an on-board shower and toilet. Please acquaint yourself with the New Zealand environmental code if you plan to free camp.

If you plan to mainly use campsites, then a vehicle that does not have an on-board shower and toilet is a good option and several companies have well-equipped vehicles that are not much bigger than a car, so are very easy to drive.

Planning Your Itinerary

There are beautiful places to visit all over New Zealand. If you only have one week, then I would advise you to pick a few places on one island.

For example, if you are in the North Island for a week, try this itinerary:

Day 1. Pick up vehicle in Auckland - explore the city. Visit the SkyTower or the museum where you can get great views as well as you sit in the domain having a picnic
Day 2. Travel to Coromandel Peninsula -plan to spend a night at one of the beautiful harbour towns such as Whitianga or Whangamata
Day 3. Explore Coromandel's great beaches and visit one of the many art galleries hosting local artists. If you want, drive to Tauranga and spend time exploring Mount Maunganui
Day 4. Drive to Rotorua. Take a drive up to the Blue and Green Lakes, Lake Tarawera and the Buried Terraces or visit one of the other many tourist attractions in this geothermal "hotspot". If you haven't experienced a Maori performance, make a point of doing so here
Day 5. Travel to Napier via Taupo. Stop at the Huka Falls in Taupo and then stop and have a picnic on the shores of Lake Taupo where on a clear day you will be able to see the peaks of Mount Ruapehu and Mount Ngarahoe on the volcanic plateau,
Day 6. Explore the art deco buildings in Napier before heading off to Wellington (if you have arranged drop-off there) or back to Auckland. If heading back to Auckland, you might want to spend this evening in Taupo or Hamilton
Day 7. Explore the city (Wellington) before dropping your campervan back. In Wellington visit Te Papa, the national museum or take the cable car for spectacular views of the city and harbour. If you are returning your vehicle to Auckland, try and fit in a visit to Takapuna beach on the North Shore today

For a one week itinerary in the South Island that gives you a great look at beautiful scenery, try this:

Day 1. Pick up vehicle in Christchurch - explore the city. Take a ride on the gondola, or have a trip around the city on a tram. The Antarctic Centre is also worth a visit
Day 2. Head over the Lewis Pass to Westport. Travel through vineyards, then mountain passes to the wild west coast
Day 3. Travel down the coast to Greymouth. This is one of the most spectacular coastal drives in New Zealand. Stop at Punakaiki to view the world-famous Pancake Rocks
Day 4. Drive south via Hokitika and Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers over spectacular Haast Pass to Wanaka - this will take a day if you take time to stop and admire the scenery more closely on the way, so have somewhere in Wanaka booked to stay before you leave
Day 5. Travel to Queenstown, the "adrenaline capital of the world" for adventure. If you prefer more leisurely activities, take a detour via Arrowtown and Lake Hawea or just browse the tourist shops in Queenstown
Day 6. Drive north again, planning to stop at Lake Tekapo. If you have time, you may be able to take a drive up to Aoraki/Mount Cook, New Zealand's highest mountain. Once night falls walk from Lake Tekapo up to the Mount John Observatory to get an amazing view of the stars
Day 7. Drive to Christchurch and return your vehicle

If you have two weeks, then you can visit both north and south islands crossing Cook's Strait via a 3 hour ferry crossing between Wellington and Picton (about a 4 hour drive north of Christchurch).

Where to Stay

New Zealand has beautiful camping grounds and campsites. There are also many places where free camping is allowed. The following are options for you for your New Zealand holiday:

Serviced Campsites, such as Top 10, Kiwi Holiday Parks and Family Parks - you can get a discount with Top 10 if you plan using their campsites throughout your vacation
Regional Council parks and campsites, particularly Auckland Regional Parks and Waitaki Lakes - facilities are often more basic than serviced campsites, but some of the locations are spectacular
Department of Conservation (DOC) campsites - these are very basic sites, which is fine if you have a self-contained campervan, but often they are in the most beautiful locations, so worth a visit
Native Parks - you can join for a small fee. Members are given a number of locations where they can camp, including vineyards and sheep stations
Free camping - you must have a self-contained vehicle to free camp. Not all areas allow free camping so you must follow the signs. However, you can get up close and personal with some amazing scenery while free camping in New Zealand. Make sure you are aware of the Environmental Code

A campervan holiday is a great way to capture the stunningly beautiful scenery that New Zealand has on offer and is world-famous for. It is a cost-effective way of seeing as many sights as you can in a short space of time, while still enjoying a relaxing vacation.

Maud Meates-Dennis and her husband, George, own New Zealand Campervan Holidays - a comprehensive online travel resource with all you need to know to get the most from your New Zealand campervan / motorhome holiday, including itineries, places to see and things to do, camping sites, New Zealand environmental code information, motorhome basics for novices and much more. Become a Kiwi - Traveling to New Zealand

Author: Joy C. Harrison

Source: ezinearticles.com

When most people go on vacation, they rarely proclaim "I'm going to New Zealand!" It's not because New Zealand is a terrible place by any means. It's quite picturesque, however most people tend to stay within a quick plane ride from their local airport. New Zealand, however, has so much to offer, the airfare is totally worth it!

New Zealand has travel to their country all planned out and can offer you contact information for agents that can book flights for you to and from New Zealand. There are also cruises that will take you around New Zealand so you can enjoy it from afar.

Visiting New Zealand brings along with it a level of comfort and casual dress. Rarely do men wear suits unless they are going to a few of the formal bars or restaurants in the major cities. In the summer, you may wish to bring a jacket or sweater.

The Pacific Rim of New Zealand is inspired by Asian food and drink, and main courses are typically seafood, lamb, pork, or venison. Kiwifruit are abundant in New Zealand, and while the food is fantastic, you should also take in some of New Zealand's finest wines and wineries.

There are plenty of nightclubs and bars to dance the night away, however keep in mind that hospitality venues, bars, cafes, restaurants, and casinos have banned smoking on the premises, however you can smoke outside.

For the outdoorsman in all of us, New Zealand offers paragliding, hang gliding, sky diving, hot air ballooning, gardens, hiking and cycling, horseback riding, orienteering and more. The land is too beautiful not to be explored, and well worth bringing some comfortable walking shoes and some sunscreen.

New Zealand has so much to offer for everyone that it's worth the travel to this beautiful land. The exchange rate from the US dollar to the New Zealand dollar is about $1.00 to $1.40 respectively, so prices should be relatively close if traveling from the United States.

New Zealand Selfdrive Holidays - How to Plan a Fly-Drive Itinerary in New Zealand

Author: Richard Wolskel

Source: ezinearticles.com

Selfdrive holidays to New Zealand using car rental or campervan hire, is a great way to discover New Zealand's many attractions. New Zealand fly drive tours with your own rental vehicle allows great flexibility in visiting places of interest, exploring hidden attractions, or discovering those gems you may learn about after meeting local Kiwis, or other overseas visitors. On a New Zealand driving holiday you are able to explore New Zealand in your own time, and at your own pace.

Where to go in New Zealand

When you first start to plan a New Zealand selfdrive holiday, you should first spend plenty of time planning where you want to go, and the activities and attractions you want to see and do. New Zealand has many attractions, tours and activities; that will cater for everything from Maori Culture, New Zealand History, Scenic Sights, Nature, Adventure Activities, Wine and Food, Gardens, Hiking, Kayaking, Glacier Trips, Fishing, Cooking or Family Activities. Once you have decided what you are interested in, then you can start planning your itinerary, where you want to go, and what you should do.

Give yourself plenty of time

After deciding what you want to see, and where you want to go, make sure you leave lots of time in which to do it. If you only stay one night in each place, then you will not have time to see anything in that city, town or region. If you stay 2 nights in each place, then that still only gives you one complete day to see the sights. Usually the day you arrive, and the day you leave is spent travelling between locations, with some time to explore and sightseeing on the way. Many places will need at least a 3 night stop as the minimum, with 2 night stops sufficient for some of the smaller places.

Using Coach Tour Itineraries

A popular way of planning a selfdrive holiday is to do this by following the routes used by coach tours. Be extremely careful when doing this! On these coach tours you have a professional driver to take you there. Because of the size of the coaches, these tours are limited to using the larger hotels. As a result they are unable to stop at many of the smaller places that may be of interest to you. The coach itineraries are generally designed with many one night stops, with some occasional 2 night stops. At most places you will arrive late in the afternoon, and leave first thing the next morning, giving limited time to explore.

As a rule of thumb, if you use a coach tour to plan your selfdrive New Zealand tour, then do it by first adding one night to every stop the coach tour makes. This will then give you an idea of the time you need for your New Zealand holiday. Once you have this basic framework, then fully research each stop on the itinerary, either through the internet, books, family or friends that have been to the area. After researching each place, you can then sit down and plan what you wish to do on each day of every stop that you have available. After you have researched each stop, then you will now if you need to make further amendments to the itinerary. The chances are that in some places you will need to add extra nights, and other places may need to be reduced, or the itinerary be amended.

Distances and Driving Times

Estimating your daily driving times and distances is an important aspect of planning your New Zealand driving holiday. Always allow lots of time, and try to place your stops at strategic points. A very easy way to estimate times and distances each day is through Google Maps. Just put in your start and end points for each day's drive, with any intermediate detours; and Google Maps will work out your driving route for you. Should you then find you have planned for a long day, then work out how your route can be improved. Often by including an intermediate overnight stop, or by adjusting the route, you will end up with a lot more relaxed and pleasant New Zealand holiday.

Should you want to see both islands of New Zealand, then try to allow at least 3 weeks for your holiday, as this will give you a more relaxed holiday, allowing plenty of time for 2 or more night stops. Should you have 2 nights or less available for your holiday, then you should think about not trying to cover both islands. Instead contemplate on seeing just one island. This will give you a much more relaxed trip.

Arrival in New Zealand

After a long flight to New Zealand, you will normally arrive there feeling very tired. It is a very good idea to think about staying at least one night in a hotel or motel at the airport or central city. You can then arrange to pick up your vehicle the next morning. Many New Zealand car hire companies will arrange a pick up from your central city or airport accommodation.

Individually Painted Campervans New Zealand

Author: Mike in New Zealand

Source: articledashboard.com

Escape campervans are a interesting take on the popular New Zealand campervan holiday. Their motto is the "The freedom to sleep around" and people seem to be doing just that.

The camper is more basic than some of the other larger models that are available. You will not find microwaves or TVs in these campers but they are fun.

Their point of difference is that each campervan has been hand painted by a New Zealand artist, many of whom used to graffiti the local streets. The art is diverse and interesting. The medium is essentially spray paint straight from the can and a clear protective coat over the top. The paint is applied in layers and the detail achieved is surprising.

According to Escape, the idea behind individually painting each campervan is to provide an alternative to the standard white campervan. The art tries to reflect the New Zealand culture and environment. The artists draw upon the New Zealand history, scenery, flora and fauna and also traditional Maori art and culture. The traditional Maori art is interesting as it can be both fearsome and beautiful. Maori culture has many colourful legends and associated heroes villains and beasts. The Escape artists seem specialise in bringing these legends to life. Other art focuses on other more popular themes such as Lord of the Rings, Road Runner type cartoons and even All Black legend Buck Shelford. Apparently painting the campervans is both challenging and rewarding. There aren't too many artists who paint mobile art I guess.

According to Escape, clients have responded very positively as the art on the campers as it creates a medium for them to interact with the locals. Clients also feel a little special whilst travelling in a "piece of art". Some apparently become very attached to "their"campervan. One couple even named their new born after the campervan they had holidayed in the summer before.

Prime Minister Tony Blair Should Be Nominated for Man of the Century Award

Author: Mark Gaffney

Source: free-articles

Prime Minister Tony Blair courageously rejected quick fame and fortune. Prime Minister Tony Blair rejected quick fame and fortune to do the right thing.

Note:

I am currently engaged in the laborious process of writing my memoir entitled, If God Ordain the Sun to Rise Tomorrow; My Final Reward: The Last Great Entrepreneur Adventure; The Penance of Karl Marx. I have taken time away from writing my memoir to express support for Prime Minister Tony Blair. A print edition of my book entitled, If God Ordain the Sun to Rise Tomorrow, will soon be available through the on-demand publishing company, LuLu.com. The URL address is http://www.lulu.com.

Tony Blair Should Be Nominated

For Man of the Century Award!

The political flak Prime Minister Tony Blair is receiving for his heroic support of United States lead military intervention and peacekeeping force in Iraq is outrageous, illogical, and intellectually unfathomable. Prime Minister Tony Blair is a modern day hero who should receive man of the year and/or man of the century awards.

The Bush Administration and Tony Blair are receiving lots of flagellation, scorn, and political battering for failure to find weapons of mass destruction. The billions of American dollars found stashed away within headquarters of the old Iraqi regime is a weapon of mass destruction that could potentially have funded training camps for terrorist all across the globe.

The billions of American dollars found stashed away may have helped the old Iraqi regime acquire deadly weapons outside Iraqi borders throughout the globe. The invasion of Kuwait in 1990, failure to comply with weapons inspections legally mandated by the United Nations, as well as defiance and belligerent talk by Saddam Hussein provided solid data strongly indicating the major intent and goal of the old Iraqi regime is to disrupt mutually beneficial business relationships between oil producing Arab Nations and the United States of America.

Also, new emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, are producing small, easily concealed, mobile laboratory equipment. Small, easily concealed, mobile laboratory equipment may have been quickly moved across the border weeks before coalition forces moved into Iraq.

Nuclear Missile components recently found buried in the back yard of an Iraqi scientist suggest the old Iraqi regime scraped outdated missile manufacturing technology and may have decided to pursue more up-to-date cutting edge mobile nanotechnology laboratory processes.

The apparent intent and goal of ex-Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein is to cause all mutually beneficial business relationships between Arab oil-producing nations and the United States to be completely severed. An attempt to disrupt mutually beneficial business relationships between Arab oil-producing nations and the United States is deeply illogical.

Severance of economic ties between Arab oil-producing nations and the United States will put Middle East economies in dire economic straits. Severance of economic ties between Arab oil-producing nations and the United States will likely create massive poverty and starvation within Middle East nations and throughout the globe.

As a major consumer of oil, the United States is a loyal customer to Arab oil-producing nations. Many European countries with strict authoritarian governments choose not to purchase massive bulk supplies of oil.

Massive bulk supplies of oil provide citizens with economic power and mobility. Strict authoritarian governments throughout Europe have an interest in restricting economic power and mobility of ordinary average working class citizens. Thus, Chinese citizens often ride bicycles to get here and there.

Prime Minister Tony Blair courageously rubbed against the political grain of the European Union. The European Union is currently in the process of trying to gain superpower status.

An effort by the European Union to gain superpower status motivated an attempt by the European Union to corner the United States of America into an unfavorable bargaining position within the United Nations by portraying the United States as a war-mongering nation.

Prime Minister Tony Blair's support of a far away nation within another hemisphere may have created an economic disadvantage to Great Britain citizenry and industrial markets. Prime Minister Tony Blair's support of military initiative of the distant United States continent may have created an economic disadvantage to Great Britain citizenry and industrial markets trying to get a piece of the action.

Great Britain citizenry and industrial markets are trying to get a piece of the action by arranging business contracts within borders of the rapidly changing European continent. The European continent is currently in the process of rapid transformation as a consequence of negotiation of mergers between various political powers and business entities.

Prime Minister Tony Blair's support of popular European political rhetoric opposing the United States lead peacekeeping mission within Iraq may have insured Tony Blair a position as a power broker within the new European Union. Prime Minister Tony Blair courageously rejected quick fame and fortune. Prime Minister Tony Blair rejected quick fame and fortune to do the right thing.

Tony Blair's unilateral support of the European Unions popular position opposing an United States lead military intervention inside Iraq may have temporarily made Great Britain's industrial markets richer. Tony Blair realized immediate gratification of wealth from unilateral support of the popular European position opposing the United States peacekeeping mission within Iraq likely would create temporary riches.

Prime Minister Tony Blair had foresight. Prime Minister Tony Blair realized that in the long run failure to support the United States lead peacekeeping mission within Iraq would eventually destabilize the global economy. Destabilization of the global economy would eventually create economic hardship for all Great Britain citizens as well as the entire global community.

The political flagellation and battering of Prime Minister Tony Blair within Great Britain's parliament is reminiscent of the old-time favorite vaudeville riddle, โ€œWho is on first base?โ€ as made famous in the Hollywood Blockbuster Smash hit classic movie, The Rain Man, starring Dustin Hoffman. Politics include an enormous amount of circular reasoning. Many lawmakers get as emotional as The Rain Man when debating issues.

An enormous amount of circular reasoning in politics may be due to the spherical morphology of the human brain. At any given time, only a small subset of information is contemplated, debated, and processed.

A small subset of information may be viewed as a small surface area or segment of a round spherical object. A small surface area or segment of information may be considered a point. According to Albert Einstein, in order to fully understand a point in time and space each and every point must be examined in reference to another point. During the course of political debates other points may not be readily accessible since the human brain has a limited capacity to process only a small segment of information at any given time.

The events that transpired during the Iraq crisis can be understood in the context of a very simple framework. The United States of America annually spends billions of dollars to purchase oil from predominately Arab Middle East nations. Middle East nations and the United States of America enjoy a mutually beneficial business relationship.

As major consumers of oil product from Middle East nations, the United States has a right to be involved in Middle East politics by virtue of being a loyal customer and participating in mutually beneficial business relationships with various Arab nations throughout the Middle East.

The old Iraqi regime lead by ex-Iraqi President Saddam Hussein violated international law by invading Kuwait in 1990. As a consequence of invading Iraq, the United Nations levied mandatory weapons inspections upon Iraq.

The old Iraqi regime lead by ex-Iraqi President Saddam Hussein failed to cooperate with weapons inspections as legally mandated by the United Nations. As a consequence of failure to comply with weapons inspections the United Nations levied trade embargo sanctions upon Iraq.

Trade embargo sanctions continued for many years. Trade embargo sanctions placed the United States in a โ€œdamn if you do, damn if you don't dipolar political conflict.

At that point in time, the United States would be damned if U.S. authorities lifted trade embargo sanctions because lifting sanctions would give the old Iraqi regime more power to effectively conduct a global military terror campaign that would eventually disrupt mutually beneficial business relationships between Arab oil-producing nations and the United States.

Trade embargo sanctions caused innocent Iraqi citizens to suffer. Trade embargo sanctions dragged on for many years due to the old Iraqi regimes failure to comply with weapons inspections mandated by the United Nations.

Something had to be done. Continuation of trade embargo sanctions generated anti-American sentiment and hatred against the United States. The United States would be damned to allow the trade embargo sanctions to continue. Thus, the United States was caught in a circular โ€œdamn if you do, damn if you don'tโ€ conflict.

The courageous action of Prime Minister Tony Blair while facing enormous political opposition prompts me to consider sharing the Nobel Peace Prize Award with Prime Minister Tony Blair, 50/50.

The new European Union needs leaders like Prime Minister Tony Blair to help keep a level playing field and maintain international equilibrium as new emerging technologies transform global economies in upcoming decades of the 21st century.

The Coromandel Peninsula

The Coromandel Peninsula is a densly forested volcanic peninsula located south east of Auckland and is the perfect getaway for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of Auckland city.
This area of New Zealand is famous for its beautiful beaches and many ancient volcanoes that are covered in picturesque temperate rainforest. Other parts of the Coromandel where the forests have been cleared have been converted in farms and these farms along with tourism are the backbone of the Coromandel economy.
Tairua photoMust see places on the peninsula include Hot Water Beach. As the name suggests, thermal heat rises through the sand and heats up the water. Try digging a hole in the sand at high tide and when it fills up with water, you have natures equivalent of a spa. Other great beaches include Cathedral Cove and Whangamata.
Another place of interest is the Coromandel Forest Park. The park contains many walks which take you through the densly forested terrain with the chance to see the tallest tree ferns in the world.

Tongariro National Park

This national park is part of the South Westland World Heritage area and is famous for its two glaciers, Franz Josef and Fox glaciers. They are unique as they are the closest glaciers to the coastline of any in the world outside of the polar regions. This means they are not only accessible, but the climate is much warmer compared to other glacial sites in the world. The park is also covered in a lush ancient rain forest and is backed by steep cliffs and mountains. It seems like a contradiction when viewing the glaciers from a rain forest, and it is this phenomenon that makes this area geologically unique. The rugged coastline is a short drive away and there are some great views of the glaciers and mountains reflecting in some of the lakes in the area. Westland National Park also has many activities on offer including treks on the glaciers, or you could try a helicopter ride up to the top of the Southern Alps, a mountain range bigger in area than the European Alps. If you want nature and spectacular scenery, and you don't mind the possibility of rain, then Westland National Park is a must see.
Westland National Park is situated in the Westcoast region.

Mt Cook National Park

Mt Cook is known as Aoraki by the Maori and stands at 3,754 metres, which makes this mountain the highest in New Zealand, Australasia, and Oceania. Sir Edmund Hillary, (a New Zealander), the first man to climb Mt Everest gained his mountaineering experience on Mt Cook. The mountain consists of three summits lying slightly south and east of the main divide, the LowPeak, Middle Peak and High Peak, Tasman Glacier photowith the Tasman Glacier to the east and the Hooker Glacier to the west.
There are many activities on offer to enjoy Mount Cook and Mt Cook National Park. Activities including miles of tracks, scenic flights, and a heli-skiing adventure to the one of the world's longest ski runs, (down the Tasman glacier). Mt Tasman is the second highest mountain in New Zealand and is four kilometres to the north of Mt Cook.

Bay of Islands

The Bay of Plenty is New Zealand's most active volcanic region with many volcanic attractions. On the coast, there are great beaches, and inland there are many lakes. There are also a number of notable cities.

The city of Rotorua is conveniently located within most of the regions volcanic attractions. For this reason and also due to close proximity with Auckland, Rotorua is one of New Zealand's biggest tourist attractions. The more notable thermal areas near Rotorua are Whakarewarewa, Waimangu, Waiotapu, Hells Gate and the Hidden Valley. These reserves all have ecellent examples of geysers, mud pools, fumeroles, thermal rivers, volcanic terraces, and hot springs.

Everywhere you go you in Rotorua you will see steam rising from the ground. Even the motels offer thermal baths and some of this volcanic energy is tapped to provide electricity to the locals. New volcanic vents often appear in the most unlikely places. Roads, properties, lakes, and even golf courses have heat rising from the ground.

The area around Rotorua is also famous for its many beautiful lakes which are ideal for fishing, swimming, and other water based activities. Rotorua is also the best place in New Zealand to see and learn about Maori culture.

Tauranga, on the coast of the Bay of Plenty is one of the fastest growing cities in New Zealand. The reason is partly to do with a warm climate and spectacular beaches. The nearby town of Mt Maunganui now joined to Tauranga by a bridge has expansive beaches, nice cafes, and one of the best lookouts in the country, atop an extinct volcano.

Just off the coast of Tauranga is White Island, an active volcano that erupts almost everyday. Sightseeing flights over White Island are highly recommended. It you want to venture further afield you could also add in the 3 volcanoes in nearby Tongariro National Park, as well as nearby Mt Tarawera.

Mt Tarawera last erupted early this century totally destroying the famous Pink and White Terraces, which was nicknamed the" 8th wonder of the natural world". It was New Zealand's number one tourust attraction. The remaining mountain after the eruption has a great gash that divides the volcano. You can take walking tours up to the top of this volcano as well as walk around the rim and admire the surrounding view including Lake Tarawera.

The Bay of Plenty is one of the most scenic and diverse regions in New Zealand, and visitors to New Zealand have been known to visit and stay much longer than they anticipated at the expense of the rest of New Zealand. It becomes obvious when you are here just how much this area has on offer.

Queenstown

For action adventure and scenery, Queenstown has it all. Fit for a queen, this beautiful lake side town is surrounded by mountains and is one of New Zealands premier tourist destinations. It is also the home of bungee jumping and jet boating which are both New Zealand inventions. Other adrenaline activities include parapenting and white water rafting. Queenstown is also one of the southern hemispheres premier skiing destinations and enables skiers from around the world to ski during the northern hemisphere's summer. If you are not an adrenaline junkie then Queenstown is absolutely still the place to go, even if it is to just admire the spectacular mountain scenery while enjoying the many cafes, restaurants, and shops on offer.
Queenstown is situated in the Otago region.
Queenstown is an exhilarating, year round, alpine resort, perfect for adventurers and leisure seekers alike. Nestled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, overlooked by the majestic Southern Alps, Queenstown is recognised internationally as New Zealand's premier visitor destination. This resort town boasts a range of activities second to none, all within easy reach of the compact town centre.Queenstown is sometimes called the action capital of the world and the title is justified when you consider the Queenstown New Zealand location mapconcentration of adrenalin activities on offer and the fact that some of them originate in New Zealand such as bungee jumping and jet boating. In addition there is parapenting, white water rafting, hiking ,four wheel drive treks, scenic flights, and a host of other activities. Queenstown's most popular pastime however is skiing. There are a number of world class ski fields that operate during the northern hemisphere's summer.
Queenstown also has a fine range of shops and restaurants as well as an abundance of tour operators and travel agents. It is easy to book any of the exciting adventures on offer here and the surrounding area. One trip that comes highly recommended is a sightseeing flight or drive through nearby Fiordland National Park. The scenery is absolutely stunning in this huge World Heritage area.
Queenstown is also the world's southernmost wine and cuisine centre and is famous for its Pinot noir which fetches premium prices.

    Abel Tasman National Park

Abel Tasman National Park is located at the top of the South Island. It is the smallest of all national parks in New Zealand, with an area of 22,500 hectares (87 square miles). The park is best known for its coastline of picturesque bays, golden sand beaches, clear waters and small islands. Both sea-kayaking and tramping (trekking) are especially well suited to discovering and enjoying this coast.
The park was founded in 1942, and covers 225 km squared. It consists of an area of forested hill country to the north of the valleys of the Takaka and Riwaka Rivers, and is bounded to the north by the waters of Golden Bay and Tasman Bay.
It is named after Abel Tasman, who in 1642 became the first European explorer to sight New Zealand.
The nearest large town is Motueka, 20 kilometres to the south.

    Fiordland National Park

iordland is situated on the scenic south-western corner of the South Island of New Zealand. Most of this area is covered by Fiordland National Park, the largest national park in the country, a huge area of 12,120 square kilometres.
The name "Fiordland" comes from the now-common variant of the Norwegian word "fjord". Fiordland features a number of fiords, of which Milford Sound is the best known.
Situated within Fiordland are Browne Falls and Sutherland Falls, which rank among the tallest waterfalls in the world. Tourist boats actually poke their bows into some of the waterfalls in Miford Sound.
Milford Track photoThere are many short walks in the park including the first part of some of the more extensive track systems (such as the Manapouri end of the Kepler Track) which make enjoyable short walks or day trips.
While most people know about the famous Milford Track (dubbed 'the Finest walk in the World') there are many other options for longer trips into the backcountry: the Kepler and the Hollyford Tracks for example, or the Routeburn which crosses the boundary between Fiordland and Mt Aspiring National Parks.
In summer, most of these walks can be undertaken by people with average fitness and experience. In winter, tracks into alpine areas become more difficult and even impassable, and are recommended only for experienced trampers and climbers. It is possible to take a guided walk on the Milford, Hollyford, Routeburn, and Hump Ridge Tracks.

    Auckland Tourist Attractions

Auckland and the surrounding Islands offers many exciting and memorable tourist attractions for you to choose from. We recommend visiting the Auckland Sky Tower where you can enjoy spectacular views of the city from hundreds of metres up. Other popular city attractions include the Auckland Museum, Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World, Auckland Zoo and the Sky Tower Sky Jump. Other attractions we highly recommend include visiting the many Islands east of Auckland - particularly Rangitoto and Waiheke Island. The rugged, untouched Great Barrier Island is also well worth a visit. If a walk through native rainforest and along a scenic coastline interests you, then the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park is well worth visiting. Another great way to see and experience more of this diverse region is by joining a guided tour.
